for reading My Lucky Day by Keiklo Kaszu! The piglet is very tricky!

Today's activity is book bingo!

How to Play: Print out a copy of the bingo board. To start check off the free space. Then spend the next week completing different activities on the bingo board. To win you need to get a bingo which is 5 in a row. The row can be up and down, across, or diagonal.
For extra fun ask someone to play Book Bingo with you and see who gets a bingo first!

STEM Activity: Trains Run

5/4/2022

Hi friends, here's another STEM video for you on trains! Join Ms. Sarah as she demonstrates an activity replicating the function of train wheels! If this activity sounds familiar, that's because this activity's instructions were posted during 2021 Fall Children's Book Week.
Train wheels are bigger on the inside because this allows them to provide stability to the train and help the train shift easier!

Thank you for participating in another STEM activity with us this week! We hope you will come back next week for another one.
Supplies Needed:
- 4 paper or plastic cups
- 2 yardsticks
- Tape (duct or scotch)
- Scissors
- A cardboard box or stack of books

Directions:
- Cut the lip off of each cup
- Tape two together from the top and the others at the bottom
- Place the yard sticks on their edges on the books or box and tape them down
- Roll each cup grouping across the yard sticks
Which one worked better?

Children's Book Week: The Kissing HAnd

5/2/2022

The Kissing Hand

Supplies:
  • 2 pieces of construction paper (any color; bright colors work best)
  • A pencil
  •  Scissors
  • Glue or tape
  •  Coloring supplies
Directions
  1. Take one piece of construction paper and place your non-dominant hand (the one you don’t write with) in the middle of it.
  2. Using your dominant hand, trace your hand with a pencil.
  3. Once your hand is traced, use the scissors to cut it out.
  4. Take the other piece of paper and draw a heart the size of your hand. (You can use your cut out hand for guidance because you want the heart to fit in your hand!)
  5. Cut out your heart and stick it to your cut out hand with glue or tape.
  6. Write a short and special message on the heart! (I recommend “I love you")
  7. Once you have completed this craft, you can give it to someone you love!
Suggestions
  • You can use the back of your cut out hand to write more!
  • You can add colorful designs to your Kissing Hand.
  • You can bend the fingers forward to slightly cover the heart, just as Chester's mom does in the story!
