Happy Computer Science Education Week!

Computer Science Education Week is December 6-12, 2021. Computer Science Education Week (CSEdWeek) is celebrated to help students learn computer science.

Did you know?

Computer Science Education Week is celebrated during the week of December 9th to honor Admiral Grace Murray Hopper on her birthday (December 9, 1906). Admiral Grace Murray Hopper was a computer pioneer and naval officer. She is best known for her trailblazing contributions to computer programming, software development, and the design and implementation of programming languages. She invented the first compiler and created the term "bug" (an error in a program) after removing an actual moth from a computer in 1947.

Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday is in-person

Monday and Tuesday: While the museum is closed visit these websites to work on your coding skills! Hour of Code Scratch and Code Monster
Wednesday: Learn to code using Spheros (robots)!
Thursday: Use Osmos and music to learn how to code!
Friday: The Spheros will be back out and Ms. Marissa will have some fun non-digital ways to learn how to code!

Today's Activity: Christmas Lists

Since Christmas is only 22 days away I thought this month's activity should be writing out our Christmas List to make sure Santa gets them in time! You can write your own letter or use this Santa approved downloadable template!

I have great news! Our museum mailbox takes letters directly to Santa! Just don't forget your return address. Santa may know EXACTLY where you are on Christmas Eve, but he needs help using the post office!
