Kiddieland Manager

​The Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum is seeking a responsible, personable adult to manage the Kiddieland Testing Park. This position requires operation of 4 historic rides. This is a summer position only, and will require weekends in September and October. Must be 18 years or older. Ability to work with children required, experience preferred.

Start Date: May 24th, 2023
Reports to: Museum Director
Pay Rate: $15.00-$15.50 based on experience

Responsibilities Include:
1. Must be available Wednesday – Saturday from 9:45am – 4:15pm and Sunday 11:45 am – 4:15pm
2. Must be available to work on Memorial Day (9:45am – 4:15pm), Fourth of July (9:45am – 12:30pm), and Labor Day (9:45am – 4:15pm)
3. Must be available for weekends only in September and possibly October, weather permitting
4. Open and close the park promptly each day, including lifting the large overhead doors on the rides
5. Train and supervise ride operators
6. Test each ride for operation, safety and cleanliness – record on log
7. Notify museum staff of repairs, as needed
8. Keep park clean – sweep, pick up trash, water plants
9. Operate rides safely
10. Be personable to museum visitor


PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Standing/Kneeling/Moving around the work area is required in performing duties.
2. Lifting/Carrying/Pushing/Pulling: The ability to lift and carry a minimum of 25 pounds is necessary for moving equipment, tools and equipment/supplies.
3. Stooping/Kneeling: The ability to stoop and kneel is necessary to perform duties.

This Job Is open to applicants who
1. Do not have a college diploma
2. Are age 18+.
​3. Do not have a high school diploma/GED
