The Tour

Join Mr. Ian, our Education Director, for a special virtual tour of the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum and workshop. Participants learn about our historic factory here at 180 Thompson Street as they follow along with Mr. Ian touring the carving floor, the Wurlitzer Music Department, and our paint shop that outlines the four Herschell companies.

Simple Machines Workshop

Recommended Grades: 3rd - 6th

Students will build their own complex machine; a moving carrousel horse out of household materials. This project focuses on the unique crank shaft or 'swinging arm' that gives our carrousel horses their gallop.
