The Tour
Join Mr. Ian, our Education Director, for a special virtual tour of the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum and workshop. Participants learn about our historic factory here at 180 Thompson Street as they follow along with Mr. Ian touring the carving floor, the Wurlitzer Music Department, and our paint shop that outlines the four Herschell companies.
Binary Bracelets
Recommended Grades: 2nd - 4th
Our historic band organ runs on a unique system of perforated paper rolls, one of the earliest forms of coding. Participants will learn and use the (capital) binary alphabet by creating bracelets with their initials, and decoding a special message.
