Hi friends! For our second week of Summer STEM, we are learning about Physics. We will have 3 different activities for all ages! Our first activity is All the Way Around! This activity involves a marble and paper plate. Centripetal force is directed towards the center, so it's also what helps you stay on the carrousel as it moves round and round! Our third activity is called Mini-Parachutes, where we will test gravity by making parachutes for all sorts of different objects. All activities on Physics this week can be found in the Children's Gallery from Wednesday to Saturday. Hope to see you there! Hi friends! This week starts our Summer of STEM, where we will have different themed STEM activities each week. This week, we are looking at Coding! Our first activity is Spheros, which is a little circular robot that you can control on an iPad! This teaches the importance of sequencing and coding, which are elements that help the carousel and band organ run. Our second activity is Binary Bracelets! Using beads, string, and the binary alphabet, you can create jewelry while learning what binary coding is. Binary coding is a simple code that most technology use to work, similar to a band organ! The third activity for this week is Follow the Leader. This activity uses sequencing and coding to help you get to a specific spot in the room! Join us this week as we explore Coding, located in the Children's Gallery in the museum. Hope to see you there!
