STEM Week: Transportation

Hi friends! For our fifth week of Summer STEM, our theme is Transportation​! We will have three activities for all ages.

For our first activity, we will be building boats! We will build them and test their strength. Boats were a very important way to travel especially with the newly constructed Erie Canal!

Our second activity is called Glide like a Bird, where we will make paper airplanes and test different designs! As technology advanced, airplanes allowed for travel at further distances at even faster times.

The third activity is Train Play, where we will explore how force and density influence motion! Not only did trains help transport carrousels, but the same thing used to power trains, the steam engine, was also used to power carrousels!
